HELP JUST ONE CHILD"My husband was laid off and had to take ANY part-time job to help cover our bills. I work, but we're struggling to make ends meet and child care is a big expense for our family! We were so relieved to learn that the Y has financial assistance. I really don't know what my family would do without the Y. Not only are the teachers the best, but I really feel like they care about my little girl and our situation. They LISTEN!" - Olivia B. |
Affordable & Accessible Child CareThe YMCA of Central Ohio is the largest provider of child care in our community. We serve over 3,000 children annually in 45 infant, preschool and child care locations.Because we provide this care, parents can work or search for employment AND their children can feel safe and learn, because they have someone who cares for and about them. |

HELP JUST ONE ADULT"Thinking back, that was a tough time. I was going to be on the streets...no job, no family, nothing and I was scared. Thank God for the Y! Without their help, I’m sure I would be homeless and hungry, not knowing what to do. Their staff took me in, gave me a HOME, and helped me to find a job - and I’m starting to get back on my feet." - Dave D. |
Housing and Supportive ServicesOur YMCA is the largest provider of supportive housing in central Ohio. We are the champions for adults, veterans and other at-risk persons. The economy continues to challenge our community - and men and women who are "on the verge" of becoming homeless turn to us for help. Each year, we provide low-income housing for over 1,200 men and women at the Downtown YMCA and Sunshine Terrace locations. |

HELP JUST ONE FAMILY"I am a single parent of two. The YMCA "Before and After Care" programs and their summer camps have helped me tremendously. I don't have much family here and the family I do have can't help. I often tell people how the Y sponsored my family for Christmas - and how my kids received gifts - they wouldn't have had a Christmas if it wasn't for the Y. I get depressed sometimes and have gained a lot of weight. I'm THANKFUL we can come to the Y as a family and I can exercise and get healthy and be a better mom for my kids." - Tiffany P. |
One Family at a TimeThere are literally thousands of family stories – all encouraged and supported in their time of need, because inability to pay is not a barrier to our services. The mission of the YMCA is not in recession. The YMCA has always been and will always be about strengthening the ENTIRE family. All are welcomed. |

Through the People Helping People Scholarship Program, the gap between community services and reaching the individuals and families who need it most is filled. Each day, the YMCA opens its doors to all in the community, never turning anyone away from service based on an ability to pay. |
